Truckee Meadows Optical is one of only a handful of labs that has virtually every major lens line.  We offer the best in premium optical lenses including Essilor, Varilux, Shamir, Hoya, Younger, AO/Sola and several other specialty lens makes. We have single vision, progressives, variable tint and sun wear for all patient types, and lens materials that include Plastic (CR-39), Polycarbonate, Mid-Index, High-Index 1.60, High-Index 1.67, and High-Index 1.74 and Trivex.

Anti Reflective Coatings

Truckee Meadows Optical has a state-of-the-art in-house AR coating facility providing cutting edge technology with Satis-Loh AR equipment.  Our newest coating, Avalanche Ascent™ with Duraguard™ is a VSP category D coating.  We also have a VSP category C coating called Avalanche Ultra.  Completing our AR line of products is our economical Avalanche Extreme.  Avalanche Ascent and Ultra are both available in our backside only sunglass AR coating called Avalanche Shades.

Advanced Edging Technology

At Truckee Meadows Optical we take pride in superior craftsmanship from the simplest job to the most difficult wrap frame or interchangeable lenses. We have invested in the latest edging technology available in today’s market.  Our MEI 641 CNC-Edger enables us to process RX lenses in frames that were previously impossible while at the same time making normal prescription eyewear look and fit better than work processed on traditional edgers.
